The highest level pass in Scotland, in the Cairngorm Mountains, attracts a lot of people. In summer, when weather is fine, the walk is reasonably easy. In winter however, the passing of Lairig Ghru can turn out to be an Alpine expedition, not to be taken lightly. You will climb to a height of 830 meters. The high Cairngorm summits - Ben Macdui (1296m), Cairn Toul (1291) and Sgor an Lochan Uaine (1258m) will close you in dramatically.
