Essex Way

81 miles. 130 km.

The Essex Way takes you from London to Harwich, slightly slower than the train does. Starting point is London Epping Underground station. The vast open landscapes and ancient forests which you hike through, were caught in time by Constable, painter of the early 19th century. Including the windmills and very English odd buildings. The path coincides with a section of European long distance trail E2.
