Noord-Hollandpad: Texel - Huizen. 270 km

Noord-Holland is a province along the north-west coast of The Netherlands. Historically, it is linked with Holland's Golden Age. Many cities, including Amsterdam, and polders give testimony of this age.

The trail is 270 km long and starts in the uppermoist point of the island Texel and ends in the southeast tip of the province, on the coast of the former Zuiderzee, now the Gooimeer. The path explores the innerlands, which displays a long and rich history of agriculture and reclaiming land from sea. This long distance trail is not an official Dutch LAW, Lange Afstands Wandelpad, but is an initiative of the province administration.

In springtime, till about half june, parts of this hike are closed because of the breeding season of meadow birds. Alternatives will be there.
